Easter Personality Statistics Part-ay!

Our personality affects everything we do, and when it comes to personality types, there are observable trends in people’s behaviors, habits, and motivations. That doesn’t mean that people are predictable – however, someone’s behavior can help you guess their personality type. For example, imagine that you’re at a backyard Easter party (since it’s that time of year). Who’s likely doing what, based on personality type statistics?

Well, the person hosting might very well be a Consul (ESFJ). About 61% of Consuls say they prefer to host winter holidays, versus 34% of all personality types on average, and 53% say they host Independence Day (USA) celebrations, versus just 16% average. So, it’s not a bad guess that the host of this imaginary Easter party is a Consul. The self-appointed, unofficial cohost might be a Commander (ENTJ), as they’re the personality type most likely to say they enjoy influencing the actions of others (97% agreeing). The least likely to say this are Adventurers (ISFPs) (52%), who probably won’t assume command of the party (and might be hesitant to be placed in charge).

Many people’s Easter celebrations center around fun activities with children. (Who doesn’t enjoy a good Easter egg hunt?) So this party we’re imagining probably has lots of kids laughing and playing, some a bit louder and wilder than others. The more boisterous kids might belong to Logician (INTP) or Debater (ENTP) parents – these are the personalities most likely to say that children should be allowed to freely express themselves, even if it disturbs others (about 82% agreeing). The quieter kids might have Defender (ISFJ) or Executive (ESTJ) parents, as only about half of those personality types say the same. Either way, there’s some sugar-fueled fun being had!

Who’s most likely to be overindulging in sweets at this fantasy Easter party? Among the kids, children of Mediators (INFPs) may have the most candy-stained fingers, as Mediators are the most likely to say that denying their kids unhealthy treats makes them feel guilty (52% agreeing, versus 36% average). But, hey, if there’s a good time to indulge your kid’s sweet tooth, it’s at an Easter party! Among the adults, the ones popping candy like it’s…well, candy…might be the Campaigners (ENFPs). When it comes to self-control, 9% of Campaigners say theirs is “very good,” and 23% say it’s “good.” Translation: like candy, eat candy.

But there’s more fun to be had at an Easter party than the candy. What about some arts and crafts? There’s sure to be people dyeing and decorating Easter eggs with various styles of artistic expression. The most unbound might be the Entertainers (ESFPs), only 33% of whom think there should be at least a few rules for making art – so their Easter eggs might range into the truly avant-garde. The more traditional decorations might be seen at the hands of Logisticians (ISTJs), about 69% of whom think there should be at least a few rules for making art. (Hey, at least they’re all getting along, though!)

Wait, who’s that at the door? It might be late-arriving Entrepreneurs (ESTPs), a little more than half of whom say they’re usually late for scheduled events. No matter, as there are still plenty of eggs left for them to decorate. And what about the Virtuoso (ISTP) personalities? They might not yet have decided whether to come to the party or just do their own thing. They’re the personality type least likely to say they feel left out or jealous when they see friends posting pictures from events that they didn’t attend (31% agreeing).

And you can bet Entrepreneurs will be posting Easter egg pics to their Insta! They’re the type most likely to say they log on to social media multiple times per day (84%), and 53% of them say they post something publicly more than once per week. But it might not just be the eggs that are snap-worthy at this party – Protagonist (ENFJ) personalities are the most likely to say they get dressed up when going out (89%, versus 65% average). So while they might not exactly be in formal garb, they may be the most fashionable ones at this Easter party.

Of course, fashion is subjective, like any art. That includes music, and there’s some controversy at this party over what tunes should be played. Many people keep fiddling with the playlist to introduce their favorite styles – the Debaters and Logicians are the most likely personalities to like rock music (84% and 82% in agreement, respectively), while the Entertainers are the personalities most likely to like pop music (88% agreeing). Meanwhile, about 74% of the Campaigners and Entrepreneurs might be lobbying for EDM, but despite all the pretty Easter colors, it’s not that kind of party.

It is, however, a nicely provisioned party with lots of food and drinks to enjoy. It’s likely the Protagonists who helped create the feast, as they’re the personality type most likely to say that preparing food is fun (79%) and that they like cooking (82%). That’s exciting to the Campaigners, the type most likely to say they enjoy sampling new and different foods (90%). And, of course, the vegetarian and vegan guests have great options as well – that’s most likely (though not very likely overall) to be Advocates (INFJs) and Mediators, at 17% each. Pickiest eaters? Likely 66% of Logisticians. Fastest eaters? Probably Entrepreneurs, at 76% agreement.

But who are the wallflowers at this party, you might wonder? Well, the personality types least likely to say they’re more drawn to places with a busy, bustling atmosphere are Advocates and Defenders, with just 7% of each type agreeing. But the ones most likely to say they stay away from the action at parties are Architects (INTJs) (90%). Perhaps the Architects, Advocates, and Defenders will find a quiet corner of the yard together to enjoy some peaceful springtime vibes – despite the random music and chaotic kids. Oh, look, they’ve discovered some of last year’s hidden treat-filled Easter eggs! Ah, stale candy and quiet companionship – the lifeblood of Introverts.
